Keeps your computer shielded from hackers by blocking all unsolicited network connections and traffic.
Omniquad Personal Firewall keeps your computer shielded from hackers by blocking all unsolicited network connections and traffic to your computer without hampering your browsing experience. In addition to making your computer invisible, it gives you full control over what programs on your computer gain access to the Internet. Whether you are on your LAN at work or are dialing out or using an ADSL or cable modem to go online, Omniquad Personal Firewall gives you these levels of protection
- High – your computer is fully locked
- Medium – everything closed to Internet hosts and your computer still open to trusted zone computers
- Low – file shares are closed and ports open for Internet traffic, opening your computer only to trusted zone computers
- Off – no protection
In each of these levels, you can still navigate the web without any limitations and programs you have already given access to will work.
The Personal Firewall also comes with a feature - Global lock - to immediately shut down all network access, very useful when you suspect your system has been infected with a virus that is using your Internet to spread itself or when you just want to lock your computer.
Trusted zones opens your computer up only to the computers you want. The Personal Firewall lets you define & enforce trusted zones, computers that you are sure have legitimate reasons to connect to yours.
Program Control facilitates another protection layer by asking you to give permission to access the Internet for each program that attempts to do so. In addition to this, Real time network traffic indicators and Automatic Lock, which shuts down Internet access after specified period of inactivity, give you comprehensive protection.
While these features are available for all users, registered users the Professional edition also get hacker tracking, IP blocking and selective port opening.
