As you can see in the video below, the table requires you to start a specific app on your iPhone (likely available through jailbreak) and plug in the cable. It appears that the power button needs to be held down when launching the required app. Wi-Fi is currently not supported. The two men in the video seem to access the Springboard, swipe between pages, and launch the Photos app without much trouble. The bigger UI elements seem to scale just fine. The Table Connect is still in development, so we’ll keep you up to date with the project.
The Table Connect firmware is apparently currently in alpha. "Please understand however that we will not talk about technological details at this point in time, due to competitive reasons," the company said in a statement. If you're convinced that this is a fake, explain why you think the device isn't real. Otherwise, answer the question in the headline!
Yeah I don't feel like it's particularly useful for use as an iPhone. I can see the touch screen table itself being very useful for meetings, explanations, diagrams, et cetera, but as for the specific iPhone related question... I suppose I'd probably try to think up ideas of things to do with it. I'm sure there are some apps that would be awesome to use on an entire table. Blackjack apps maybe? haha.
At any rate, I like the touch-screen table technology. But you should be able to cover it with a table cloth, turn off the touch screen, and use it as a normal table for whatever you want (as captain said, nailing your girlfriend?), and then change it back when you want to.
wow that is awesome... i wish i had that much time on my hands i might be able to get a lot more amazin stuff than I do now....
Huh....think I'll put this in the "pretty cool, but what's the point?" category.
I agree. It's huge and useless.
Jailbroken?...Well if it's broken, I'de probably clean it first (with strong bleach) ![]()
Well, I can see where they got the inspiration:

An iPad app would make a lot more sense. An iPad is meant for bigger screens, and with that it has smaller buttons instead of huge ones. However, it's still very cool, and still very useless.
It will be perfect for a kitchen table. Preparing some food while you look at the recipe and searching for new ones on internet. I hope it's scratch resistant :P
its like the ipad, its awesome but also completely useless(by useless i mean u don't really need giant touch screens, a tv + a desktop can do same things).
It can't be very comfortable doing anything on it for a long time, its so big you have to be standing to see everything.
great for business meetings or technical drawings and projects...definetely worth the attention!
To everyone who keeps saying that this is a pretty much useless product: Yes, it has very little use, but that is obviously not the point. It is supposed to be a really cool device, not a really useful one. As someone said before, air hockey would be pretty awesome on this.
But does it make phone calls?
How about video calls in full 58" glory?
Would look cool on the floor with some of those 3D visual illusion photos.
But does it make phone calls?
How about video calls in full 58" glory?
That would be very real (scary) close-up, -here's looking up your old nose hairs- type of distraction video call.
Although on the flip-side it would be useful(iRa Pro app) tool to keep your Employees under the "scope"...pun intended....
If I had the money to throw around with out any other reason... heck yeah! Otherwise... not really. But a touch device like table that I could pull up the internet and other cool stuff in a multi task way as in more than one person at the table could do his own computing tasks.. ala MS Surface... that would be sweet. Again probably too expensive to be really used by most.
I wonder how much it will cost when it is produced.
That's really cool, i wish i had one of those
. Imagine what you could do with it
it would be straining to do that even for an hour. i think its better and much easier to use the smaller version. dont get me wrong, it's nice to have, but i dont think i would use it that much if i had one. it would hurt my back. LOL
The question remains, does it have a Retina display? ![]()
I'd replace the non-interactive Microsoft Surface replica table I have in my living-room. :P
i would carry it around and use it for all my normal phone calls like trigger happy tv's dom jolly.
Is there a handle bar mount for it "so I can find my way around town"?
I wouldn't hook it up to a lousy iPhone I'll tell you that.

^This. What would you possibly do with it... -___- Get a touchscreen monitor + computer, plz.
That sounds amazingly fun. Haha, what about pinball? ![]()
Great device! I would like to have table like this at home.
