Benchmarks: Metro 2033, Splinter Cell Conviction


With an average of 42fps at 1920x1200 in Metro 2033, the HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo X was 11% faster than a standard HD 6870. Despite this performance boost, it was still 11% slower than the HD 6950 and GTX 570, while besting the GTX 560 Ti by 2%.

The HIS Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo averaged 33fps, making it 10% faster than the GTX 460 and 6% faster than a standard HD 6850. However, it was 20% slower than the GTX 560 Ti and 13% slower than the HD 6870.

Scaling things up to 2560x1600, we found that the HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo X Crossfire configuration provided 49fps making it 7% faster than the GTX 590 and 11% slower than the HD 6990. It was also 58% faster than the HD 6970 and 44% faster than the GTX 580.

The HIS Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo cards averaged 39fps and were 26% faster than the HD 6970 while being 15% faster than the GTX 580.


When testing with Splinter Cell Conviction the HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo X averaged 56fps at 1920x1200, putting it just 2% ahead of the standard HD 6870, 8% ahead of the GTX 560 Ti and 2% behind the HD 6950.

The HIS Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo on the other hand delivered 48fps and was 4% faster than a standard HD 6850, 9% faster than the GTX 460 and 8% slower than the GTX 560 Ti.

When testing at 2560x1600, we found the HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo X to be 17% slower than the HD 6990 and 19% slower than the GTX 590. Still, it was 37% faster than the HD 6970 and 23% faster than the GTX 580.

The HIS Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo averaged 55fps, which was 28% faster than the HD 6970 and 15% faster than the GTX 580.
