Benchmarks: Just Cause 2, Mass Effect 2


The HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo X averaged 35fps when running Just Cause 2 at 1920x1200, making it 10% slower than the GTX 560 Ti and 22% slower than the GTX 570. That said, it was 9% faster than a standard HD 6870 and 3% faster than the HD 6950.

The HIS Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo was slightly slower with an average of 30fps making it 3% faster than the GTX 460 and a standard HD 6850. When compared to the GTX 560 Ti, HIS' overclocked HD 6850 was 23% slower and 6% slower than the HD 6870.

The HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo X performed very well in Crossfire when testing Just Cause 2 at 2560x1600, averaging 46fps. This ranked it about 4% slower than the HD 6990 and 2% slower than the GTX 590, while it outperformed the HD 6970 by 70% and the GeForce GTX 580 by 35%.

Although slightly slower with an average of 42fps, the HIS Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo Crossfire configuration also had a strong showing. This made it just 13% slower than the HD 6990 and 11% slower than the GTX 590 while being 56% faster than the HD 6970 and 24% faster than the GTX 580.


The HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo X powered its way through Mass Effect 2, delivering an average of 78fps. It was 4% faster than a standard HD 6870, 18% faster than the GTX 560 Ti, and 4% slower than the GTX 570.

In comparison, the HIS Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo was 11fps slower with an average of 67fps, which was actually no better than a standard HD 6850. That said, it was 2% faster than the GeForce GTX 560 Ti and a whopping 34% faster than the GTX 460.

With an average of 100fps at 2560x1600 the HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo X Crossfire configuration handled Mass Effect 2 with ease. This made the duo 2% slower than the GTX 590 while they were 3% faster than the HD 6990, 61% faster than the HD 6970 and 52% faster than the GeForce GTX 580.

The HIS Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo Crossfire graphics cards averaged 84fps making them 35% faster than the HD 6970 and 27% faster than the GTX 580.
