Supreme Commander is an impressive RTS title that was recently released and is powered by a highly demanding engine, making full use of processor and graphics processing power. At 1600x1200, the 7600 GT really struggles to deliver playable performance, rendering just 12.8fps. The 8600 GT was able to improve the situation slightly, rendering 17.4fps while the 8600 GTS managed 22.2fps. This placed the 8600 GTS barely behind the 7900 GS, which produced 22.6fps on average. The 8800 GTS showed marked dominance as it did before this test.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R is another new title. This cutting-edge first person shooter's engine is again very demanding. Here the 8600 GTS was able to (finally) out muscle the 7900 GS winning by 8fps while the 8600 GT defeated the 7600 GT by 5fps.
