The only real change you can make to
configure Giants for Multiplayer is which Port Giants uses for communication.
Again, you can add the following command line, as shown previously;
-port x.
Where x is the Port which you wish Giants to use, rather than the default
one of 19711. This is useful should you need to configure your Firewall/Router
to allow Giants to access/host Multiplayer Games.
Giants contains no settings that
control your Network settings for the Game, rather it’s determined by the
quality of your connection to the Game server – DirectPlay regularly polls
your current connection to determine available bandwidth & settings are
dynamically changed based upon this.
You should take a look at
our Modem Tweak guides for Windows
9x, Windows
Millennium Edition & Windows
2000 or ISDN Tweak guides for Windows
2000 & Windows
9x for how to optimize your Internet connection & reduce ping times
further in online Giants games.
Conclusion
Your
Giants gaming experience should now be greatly improved with
better visuals, audio & hopefully minimal performance loss. This guide may
be updated whenever new patches become available. Email
me if you have any questions/comments/suggestions.
