Netplay
Select the Connect tab.

Connection. Use this to select the most appropriate Internet connection type you have from the available options, e.g. 56K.
You can further improve your netplay performance. Open the Settings folder in the directory where Gore is installed, e.g. D:\GoreTest\Settings. Right click on autoclient.cfg & select Open With. Use Notepad to open it. The following settings are available in this file;
bandwidth x. The default values for this may not be suitable for your Internet connection. However you can change this in-game as needed. Should you find your ping is increasing you may want to lower your bandwidth, & vice versa. The table below gives general values for x depending on your Internet connection.

To enter in bandwidth changes enter them into the console & hit Enter, e.g. bandwidth 5000.
NOTE – Currently binding a key to the bandwidth setting is Disabled, although instructions are included here in case future releases enable this. You can also Bind keys to bandwidth values, this is quicker than entering them into the console. Try adding/editing the following to your autoclient.cfg.
bind a:[bandwidth x]
bind b:[bandwidth y]
Substitute in your own keys (a & b) & bandwidth values (x & y) as appropriate. You should set one value higher than the other, this way should your ping rise, you can quickly change back to a lower setting. Save any changes/additions you have made. Now in Gore you can press a key to change your bandwidth settings.
You should also take a look at the Modem Tweaking guides for Windows 9x, Windows Millennium Edition & Windows 2000 (as appropriate) for how to optimize your Internet connection & reduce ping times further in Multiplayer games. If you play on a LAN then check out the LAN Tweak guide.
