Audio
Go into the Options menu & select the Audio tab.
Current 3D Provider. This tab displays the current 3D Sound API being used by Sacrifice. Select Change 3D Provider to change the API to be used, options available being as follows.
Depending on the Soundcard you have installed select the appropriate API that best suits your Soundcard, e.g. those with SoundBlaster Lives should find that selecting Creative Labs EAX 2 to be the best option available. Select DirectSound3D Software Emulation if your Soundcard is not capable of performing any other of the available choices. Selecting either HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function) options can improve Audio realism also.
Sound Volume. This setting controls the volume level for audio in Sacrifice. Adjust the slider bar for volume as required, slide the bar Right to increase sound volume & vice versa.
Music Volume. This setting controls the volume level for music in Sacrifice. Adjust the slider bar for volume as required, slide the bar Right to increase music volume & vice versa.
Speaker Setup. Select your Speaker setup from here as appropriate be it Surround, 4 Speaker or whatever.
Disable Music. Tick this to setting to disable the in-game music from playing. This will improve performance, which can be useful on slower systems. Leave this setting Unticked to enable the in-game music being played, you should only really do this if you have a good Soundcard & the game already plays smoothly. Those with slow CPU/Hard drives shouldn’t enable Music at all as it can be fairly CPU intensive given it’s in MP3 format.
Disable Advisor Help Speech. Tick this setting to disable the playback of comments from the Advisors (Gods, etc.). While this will have a negligible effect on performance it’s more for those who wish to disable (Untick) comments you’ve probably heard before. Change this setting as you see fit.
You can find out how to further optimize your Sound quality in our Soundcard/Speaker Tweak guide. This will take you through everything from improved Speaker positioning to setting up your Soundcard options.
