0x00000024 BSOD

Hi,
My problem is that my computer will not go past the loading windows XP bit before going to the blue screen. It does the same with safe mode. The rror message is '0x000000024' give or take a zero. It means that I can't log on or anything. I have tried to do a repair install on the computer but it blue screened again. Is there any solution to this problem other than going to a proffesional. (I have basic computer knowledge)

0x00000024: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM
A problem occurred within NTFS.SYS, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. There may be a physical problem with the disk, or an Interrupt Request Packet (IRP) may be corrupted. Other common causes include heavy hard drive fragmentation, heavy file I/O, problems with some types of drive-mirroring software, or some antivirus software.

Without being able to diagnose more my best guess is either a) your harddrive has crashed or is close to it or b) you are heavily infected.

First, can you boot into Safe Mode?

Second, give us your system specs including your OS and security software.
