Yesterday morning I got up, went to my HP Desktop tower & clicked my Google chrome browser only to see it say this website cannot be found, then I saw the dreaded round circle meaning no internet. I rebooted, I shutdown & restarted still no internet. I then got on my HP laptop & same thing:mad:I then got on my Acer laptop & YES, internet. I used it to google how to get back online & tried most of them but still nothing. One of the possible solutions was restarting the modem/router , I did so & finally internet was back. My question is why HP only?? Thanks in advance

Could be a number of things, but I don't think it was HP specific but maybe device-specific... and the router's protocol assigning the IPs called DHCP. That's been known to fail from time to time, so a reboot had the router reassign all devices, and thus back to working normally.

It used to be the case two decades ago that rebooting your home router once every couple of weeks was sort of a good idea. These days it's less frequently needed on more modern hardware.
