5700 XT hdmi sound drops

Every time I use the HDMI port with my 5700 XT the sound cuts in and out randomly. I have tried everything I can think of and still have the same problem, anyone know how to fix this issue ?
5700 XT 20.5.1
AMD 3600X
B450 Tomahawk
16 GB DDR4 32OO
I have tried reinstalling the card and reseating it / inc DDU , 3 HDMI cables, two tv's windows audio settings

RX5700 and HDMI sound problem

Ryzen 5 2600x msi b450 tomahawk latest bios kingston predator 3200 cl 16-18-18-36 Windows 10 up to date. I connect VGA to AVR via HDMI. The problem is the sound from RX5700 is not smooth. It often jerky or sometime, the sound disappear. I need to mute it from taskbar and open again then...

one solution listed in the link was not to install AMD audio driver, have you tried that ? you can still use audio over HDMI with the windows default driver.

Yep I have tired that too, but thank you for the idea - I think im going to give up and go nvidia when the 3000's come out.
