AA never works

Hi,
i´ve been having a problem lately.
i have a radeon 4670 HD and my monitor is a samsung T220.
and my problem is, every time i activate AA in any game, it just wont function.
when i force it through the driver manager, it works but the game slows down to a halt.
am i doing something wrong? can you guys help?

mostly stalker call of pripyat and mass effect 2

i have been playing ME2 for the past two weeks and it doesn't support AA in-game and if you try to force it through the driver manager it has causes problems for me too. now for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat your radeon 4670 doesnt meet the Recommended specs of Intel Core 2 Duo E7400/AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+, 2GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 9800 GTX/ATI Radeon HD 4850
