aim not working with my router

I have a Belkin wireless G router. I am hooked directly to it and my boyfriend is connected through a wireless network card. Sometimes our internet wont work and we keep on getting kicked off of aol intsant messenger. Any ideas of what to do? I recently bought a FastCAT 5e networkin cable, but it didn't really help. If anybody could help me that would be great.

How do you get your internet back?

First you should check whether it is your router failing or the internet connection itself. Next time your connection dies, try accessing the router setup page and check the internet connection status there.

If you determine the router is the issue, you may be able to download a firmware update for your router which resolves it.

Many brands, models and types of routers suffer from disconnection issues... sadly.
