  1. Amazon will once again be offering a discount on its annual Prime membership in celebration of wins at the Golden Globes this past week.

Starting Friday, January 15, at 9:00 p.m. PST, Amazon will drop the price of its Prime subscription down to just $73 (reflective of the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards). The offer will be valid through Sunday, January 17, at 11:59 p.m. local time.

Amazon ran a similar promotion a year ago when its original series Transparent won two Golden Globe awards. It was another original series, Mozart in the Jungle, that earned honors this year as Amazon took home the 2016 Golden Globe award for Best Musical or Comedy Series while the show's lead star, Gael García Bernal, earned the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series award.

As has been the case in years past, the discounted rate is only good for new members. Those with an existing Prime membership can't extend it using this offer.

Amazon is also making seasons one and two of Mozart in the Jungle free for everyone this weekend. To access the show, you'll need to grab the Amazon Video app for your mobile device, connected television or set-top box (or you can watch it on your computer by clicking here).

Its a tough call which is the better superhero show, Gotham or Davedevil. Certainly the latter is more believable, and the fight choreography is astounding.I'll say this, though: Gotham has probably the best-realized comic book setting on television. You watch and can't help thinking maybe Gotham City is a real place. I only wish Arrow, Flash or Supergirl were as well done..they feel cheap and way too Smallville-ish by comparison. Really, really hoping Legends of Tomorrow isn't another schlock-fest.

Davedevil is OK, but the greatest of them all, as far as stunts, action and choreography, was Super Dave Osborne. There was never anyone like him and likely will never be another.
