AMD crashes in latest Steam survey

I think people are forgetting that Steam is not all of pc gamers. Sure it's a vast majority but not all gamers have steam. Unless Valve releases their methodology you shouldn't make inferences.

That’s not the point though. The issue is whether Steam’s stats are representative of all PC gamers. That should be true unless Steam users have different hardware preferences to people who don’t use Steam.

The true issue is the lack of anything better to offer. As it is, Steam is the best we have.
Yeah unfortunately, until Steam shares public information about its survey methodologies, such as how many systems it queries per year or the percentage of laptops and desktop PCs, I'm gonna give the data the side eye.

Got an RTX 3080 Ti on Monday. Yay!

Last AMD cards I had (2 RX 580 and an RX 570) each had black-screen issues and random crashes. Sorry AMD, I love you, but your video card drivers suck.

My 2 GTX 980's, GTX 1080 Ti and RTX 2080 TI never had a single issue. For me, it's worth paying a premium for quality and reliability.
I have been using Nvidia all my life, but I decided to switch to AMD as I don't like Nvidia's sales practices and I got 6900xt for nearly an year now and tbf I have never had any issues with that card and I keep it OC to 2800mhz, playing games every day for 5-10 hours all different kind and never ever had a single issue with drivers or whatsoever, I have never been so happy, your opinion on their drivers and cards is outdated.

Ah I meant DLSS and RTX voice etc aswell as ray tracing when I said RTX features. I think ray tracing isn’t as significant as DLSS when it comes to sales. They also have cuda.

I’m in the same boat as you were, I’m stuck on an RX480 and I’m sick to death of the driver issues. But I need a whole new PC really, my 4790K won’t cut it with a top end GPU (especially an Nvidia one). Prebuilts arent too bad, you can get ok value on them and they are certainly a lot better value than buying a GPU separately. I’m just going to be out living on boats a lot until Christmas so I’m just going to wait till then to upgrade.
I have so many friends with 3080 cards and I can tell you none of them is using DLSS simply because of the input lag it adds and its still not as worth as peope say it is, probaly for super casual even then its just stupid, I have 6900xt and I was nvidia fanboy for years , I will never go back to nvdia, have the amd gpu for over an year now and its been splendid , best purchase of my life, in raw performance im crushing every gpu on the current market have it oced to 2800mhz, never had black screen or blue screen and in general any issue, and I play between 5-15 hours a day, your opinion on their drivers and gpus in general is outdated. I have compared my gpu to 3080 and 3090 , can tell you only game the 3090 beated me was cyberpunk on 4k on 1440p it wasn't even close. Also temperatures were much lower with around 5-10 degrees between OCed 6900xt and stock 3090 in favour of the amd gpu.

lmao. Nope, you are incorrect. Radeon drivers are still awful. Sure they aren’t as bad as they were a couple of years ago but most issues remain unfixed. Your performance claims are a lie and do not match the performance figures reviewers publish.

I dont really care what reviews are saying I paid 1.1k for my card red devil and I have no reason to lie, once I am home I will post some pictures to prove how ignorant you are. From personal experience used tons of different cards none of the reviews matched any of my personal tests and experience with any of the cards. Either the reivews have been very biased or the other way, and in this situation its the opposite. The red red devil 6900xt is a super solid card cooling wise. Also about the drivers can you please explain me what kind of issues do you get with your 6000 series card? You dont have one? Then don't post lies.

Lmao, I haven’t lied about a thing. The command to run the survey has even already been listed in this comment thread;

steam://take survey/1/
steam://take survey/2/
steam://take survey/3/
steam://take survey/4/

If you are still struggling then I would suggest you ask the person who built your PCs for you to assist you. It’s relatively straightforward to run but some people do struggle…

Oh and your personal experience is still irrelevant in a mass survey. That should be obvious..

I seen steam survey 2 or 3 times since I registered in 2009. im using amd cpu&gpu and havent seen the survey request yet.
and I also tried your win+r and commands while having steam running and not running + system reset and tried both ways, nothing shows up

Hmm. They do work, it works on my system and my brothers. Google it maybe?
