All I know is that historically, ATi used "XT" to denote "extreme".Yeah, perhaps there is Some logic on those special codes and numbering scheme, but I stopped searching for that logic long time ago

I am planning on getting the 6400 for a few reasons.
I only have 5 pcie slots. My cpu is an epyc 9124.
I use a rtx 4070 for compute, but if I also put my monitor on it I loose 4.5GB of ram, and I need all of the ram for some of my projects. So I need a different gpu for my monitor.
it is 1 slot wide.
my only other option for a gpu in 1 slot is the nvidia 1030, which can't drive 4k at 60hz.
I run windows, linux, and freebsd on this computer, and it is so annoying to have to boot into text mode after every update because the nvidia drivers don't play well with others.
I also use a SAS card and a quickassist card.
