AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT vs. Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070

Again a hit piece on AMD. What happened guys? Nvidia threatened you or something?

Your Canadian pricing is out of whack. Yet again.

I can walk out right this moment and get a 9070XT for 949 Canadian Dollars at Canada Computers. And if I'm willing to wait for the next shipment, I could get one at 869 Canadian Dollars.
Similarly I could go out and get a 5070 for 759 CAD (same for a 9070, actually) or a 5070Ti for 1089 CAD.

So all in all we're looking at the 5070Ti being anywhere between 14%-25% more expensive depending on availability on BOTH cards at their respective levels. Sure the cheap 869 CAD 9070XT sells out pretty quickly (days), but it is not impossible to get one.

Sure one CAN get a 9070XT for a whopping 1230 CAD, fancy schmantsy white, with magnetic coupling fans and all that jazz, (and they are in fact sold out!!!) But then again the most expensive 5070Ti would also be 1449 CAD so 18% more expensive.

So, get your facts right! At least the Canadian ones.

Well, once again, time to stick to my "old" 7900 XTX!
With it's 24 GB VRAM installed, I'm all set! And if I have to lower settings a little, not a big deal in any way!

In the US, if you live near a Micro Center, you are able to find some 50 series models for 70ti,70,60ti 16GB close or even at MSRP. That's your best bet. If you don't live near one, good luck.

Pricing doesn't make sense because Euro pricing has VAT included already. That's typically 19% for Germany. So in effect, GPUs are quite a bit cheaper in Germany than in other countries listed.

Looking at the actual prices for RTX 5070 and 9070 XT, I can't find these cards for sale for anywhere near the prices listed in the article from any US retailer at the moment.
No not in effect, thats the cost to you as a resident of Germany. Your pricing doesn't make any sense. Pricing you can actually personally acquire it for is the only thing that makes sense. It is in no way shape or form or reality; cheaper in Germany. What utter nonsensical babbling. We would say every year every release how prices in the UK and Europe are 20% cheaper. But we dont. Just pointless.

MC is in all the major markets. They're not like Best Buy but I prefer them to be a smaller privately owned company. Prices from MC can safely be used for comparisons.

Nonsense. We have no Microcenter in Austin or San Antonio TX, both huge markets on their own. One store in the middle on I35 could easily catch both cities. Austin is highly tech-based and San Antonio is just enormous in both population and size.

The closest store to Austin is the Houston store. To use it, we would spend around $100 in gas, and that's in our little compacts. It would also use the majority of a day to do this.

No matter how much cheaper Microcenter might be, it's very rarely worth considering.

If you look at any ad for Microcenter on Facebook, the comment section is filled with people in medium to enormous markets, asking for a Microcenter.

By your logic though, all US prices need to be increased by 6-13% in the article. Sales tax is not included in the US prices but VAT is included in the German prices. You have a 25-34% real difference in advertised vs. actual product price difference strictly due to taxes and you're saying that's unimportant?
