The new Ryzen 9 5900HX is bound to be widely used across high-end gaming laptops. While not the outright fastest processor in the series, it should be a better performer than other Zen 3 APUs we've reviewed so far, namely the 5800H and 5980HS.

If only Ryzen 5000 Series laptops were available to buy in India. They will become available in 2022. Tiger Lake will be available earlier.

Is it just me or is battery life skipped over entirely on most Ryzen 5000 laptop reviews? I thought that the increase IPC was going to improve efficiency and battery life, but I keep reading reviews that don't even test it. Where's a good source for this information?

Thank you for the test, however, this is not an attractive product. The same stupid naming mallarchy as with the 3700x/3800x pair (and then they had to use 3900/3950 for 12 and 16 core products, because they have run out of numbers :) ).

I love what AMD has done in the past few years, but they could really leave this *****ic naming scheme behind. Call this product a 5850X, or 5800XT, and call it a day (and then 5900 could have been used for a 10 or 12 core product, if it ever comes along in the mobile lineup).

Good. Ten years from now I'll look back and see a long line of potent processors. Keep building up the stack AMD 👍🏾

It will be fun to see the benchmarks on desktop versions of these with high end cooling and, hopefully, higher power limits.
