That's just terrible, nothing about that is impressive at all. Windows Pages when it HAS to and tries not to because it massively degrades performance, not to mention it's a lot of reading and writing off your SSD slowing performance of the drive and wearing it out quicker.If you want to get technical I can explain it to you. Android cannot “page” it’s memory, so if you exceed active ram it will kill applications. iOS however is more like Windows and can offload active apps to a paging file on the disk. The algorithms behind this are hugely secret as they provide Apple with huge performance gains and save them lots of money on memory every year as they don’t need to be putting in 8/12/16GB of memory into a modern mobile phone just to get a seamless experience.
Apple saving itself money is nothing to brag about when their products already cost a small fortune, it's actually embarassing that a £1.5k phone has less RAM than something for £200...
Also, imagine the performance if Apple DIDN'T do that and actually just used more RAM?
