Apple on Wednesday published the full schedule for next month’s Worldwide Developers Conference. The event will kick off on Monday, June 2 at Moscone West in San Diego with a 10 a.m. keynote scheduled to last for approximately two hours. It’ll likely be led by CEO Tim Cook with support from senior VP Craig Federighi and Eddy Cue.
9to5Mac expects we’ll see a completely redesigned version of OS X (10.10) as well as the debut of iOS 8 complete with an improved mapping app, new features for the iPad such as dual-pane multitasking and the new Healthbook fitness app.
Sources also claim we will see some new hardware unveiled during the keynote. It’s anyone’s guess as to what exactly Apple has in store although a MacBook Air with Retina display, updated Apple TV hardware and the iWatch are all strong possibilities – in that order if I had to make a guess. The oft-rumored Apple television set, meanwhile, has seemingly fallen by the waist side and it’s increasingly less likely that we’ll never see it materialize.
The iPhone 6 isn’t expected until later this summer at a separate launch event. The same can be said about a rumored larger iPad which, following Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 announcement, seems more likely than ever.
