Are You Using Your Right or Left Brain?

I am impressed by how many people can see or even make her move in either direction. In accordance with my OP, this proves the high IQ of TS members. :)
Now my scientific analysis of the various observations made in the comments so far:

• Those seeing sexual connotations are using their “male part of the brain”. In young male adults, this part occupies much of the brain much of the time. This part is also used by those surprised at her changing direction. They obviously know little about women and their changeability.

I think it's referred to as. "adolescent sexual preoccupation"! When an individual matures a bit more, this may morph into "post adolescent pseudo-intellectual pretense".

Wisdom I have gleaned from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", (TV), corroborates this! "Xander", with wisdom beyond his years said, "I'm a teenaged boy, I can get aroused looking at a lug wrench". Men in general are supposed to think about sex almost continously. I thought I heard every 8 seconds, but if Bobcat would like to use that as a starting point for more research, I'd be more than happy to "review" his findings.
• Those seeing a nipple have a focused brain that can “get to the point”.
. Actually I saw the nipple and chose not to mention or focus on it, but rather react as I would in real life, admiring her backside instead, which is rockin' incidentally. Well, yours would be too, if you stood in one spot and jumped up and down all day. Although seriously boys and girls, (particularly the girls), don't try this at home, a stair master would do as much or more good, but is a lower impact form of excercise.
• Those getting hooked on her have what has been referred to here as a “fishing brain”.
No, I'm not specifically "hooked on her. My "fishing brain" wants to seek out more jumping, twirling, female avatars, possibly doing said actions indiscreetly with female companions. Possibly even multiple female companions.

Just a few thoughts on my part. I'd like to continue, but I don't want to "cheapen" this wonderful study/survey. Well, at not least any more than I already have.

Oh, who am I kidding :p:rolleyes: :haha:

Good thread ^^.

I notice she seems like she spins slower when i'm concentrating on her, but faster when i'm paying more attention to something else. I think she's trying to catch my attention, and its working :).

Fantasy land

What does it mean if she's come out of the screen and is running around your house but you can't catch her? Do you need more:

  • Viagara
  • Exercise
  • Changed Diet
  • Subliminal meditation
  • Psychiatric therapy
  • Happy Pills
  • Chemical Strait Jacket
  • Join another tech forum
Or does it simply mean she just doesn't like you.

OR WHAT!

Oooopps sorry about the colors Capn

Dart her with a tranquilizer gun. After that she'll just lay there and won't wiggle around very much, sort of on a par with my ex-wife.

Aaahhh mate, you've absolutely dropped me with that one. I'm rolling around on the floor holding my sides. It was worth coming on the forum just for that! Keep up the good work.

Hokey Pokey

I have been able to change the figurine's rotation direction without looking away, almost every time, which proves it is a genuine optical brain perception issue and not controlled by a timer. However, it definitely does not prove I've got an IQ of 160+ becos I've done other IQ tests which prove otherwise.

Another Optical Illusion

This is another optical teaser. Nowhere near as exciting as Bobcat's but worth a look.

If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, the dots will remain only one color,
However if you stare at the black "+" in the center, the moving dot turns to green.

Continue to concentrate on the black "+" in the center of the picture.
After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will see only a single green dot rotating.

It's amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear. This should be proof enough, we don't always see what we think we see.

Yes, the dots do exactly as indicated. I know this is cynical but I think the dots show that I'm just a sheep that follows the crowd. Baaaaa!

Did You Get That "Light Sense" Number....?

Persistence of vision! It's the same effect as looking at at bright light or getting hit with a flashbulb. As the effect wears off, it sort of goes to the same green you see in the circle of lights. The choice of colors, which are close to complimentary, probably enhances the effect. Almost a color negative.

If you follow the lights, the image remains at the same spot on the retina. If you don't there's a vacant area where the light used to be.

Very good Cap'n, you're dead right. Just concentrated on staring at the ceiling light, then closed my eyes. I could see a "picture" of it in the original color, then it slowly turned to green, and finally to a deep magenta color before fading altogether.

Sorry didn't get that "Light Sense" number... didn't concentrate enough and it faded off my retina! LOL

Thats kind of creepy, at least it is pretty simple to understand, once things get complicated, ill try to forget about them to maintain sanity.

Is it just me or is there a little red - blinking?

Double vision

Yeah Kitty, me too. I have to keep it simple or I go nuts in quick time.

I found if I watch it even for a relatively short period of time I start to get vertigo.

I notice you have to really concentrate to be able to stay focused on the black cross. Otherwise the pink spots start to come back. Makes me feel like I've had a few too many and any second the "pink elephants" will appear, and then it's off to AA.

Although I initially saw her going clockwise, I can manage to get to see it anti-clockwise if I keep the image in my peripheral view for some time. Cannot manage to go back to seeing it go clockwise though, for some wierd reason.

Cool stuff though. Nice find bobcat! :grinthumb

The same thing happend to me, I looked at her for a minute going clock wise, I read the post below her with he feet still in the corner of my eye as I read how he switched it, she changed to counter clock wise, tripped me out haha, Im gonna see if I can get her to go back to clock wise.

OK took me about 20 seconds to switch it back to clockwise, very interesting nice post. What I did is keep the feet somewhat in view looked down away from it and visualized it going the way I wanted it too in my mind, really invisioned it, looked up and poof was going clock wise again.

Cool I can do it now looking directly at it, going from clock to counter seems harder. If I practice I bet I can do it pretty fast.

I saw the nipple, I had 2 other people view this with me we did not all see the same thing.

Static Analysis

To help you visualize how she can change direction of rotation, I reproduce 4 frames in the correct sequence, though leaving out a few between them for simplicity.

First imagine that the raised leg is her left, which is near you. She is then rotating anti-clockwise.

Now imagine that the raised leg is her right, which is away from you, while the standing left leg is near you. She is now rotating clockwise.

Once you’ve mastered the mechanism on the static frames, try it on the original moving gif.
