Asus G50V: Screen stays black after login

This is an issue that just started. After starting my computer, typing in my password and logging in, my computer simply goes to a black screen, even though the back light is still on. I can still move the mouse and can get the task manager to show up, but nothing else. I am running Windows 7 ultimate, and have never had an issue before
