I have been having a problem with my computer for a while now and have spent countless hours trying to find a solution, with no change. I am running an ABIT MB with an Athlon 3400 processor. Windows,XP SP2, 3 GB RAM, Two DVD burners (Pioneer PATA and ASUS SATA) etc.

My problem is tha twhen I insert a disc in either of my DVD burners, nothing happens. They don't show up in my computer, although the drives are shown. The name of the disc with show up after I reboot the computer with no problem. Also, whne I insert a disk, if I try to go the the drive properties, My Computer locks up and if I try to force it to close, Windows Explorer stops responding.

I would appreciate any help as I want to get this resolved. Thank you.

This is not an autorun issue.

Close all app.

Go into Device manager click + by DVD/CD-ROM drives then rt click and uninstall both drives and immediately reboot.

The drives will be reinstalled on the way back up.

If issue still exists do the below and that should do it!
