Logs here. Note Kaspersky one seems to be completely empty, as it reported no (zero) threats, so the screen had nothing to report.

Good :)

Unless you willingly installed Kontiki Player....
Go Start>Control Panel>Add\Remove ("Programs and Features" in Vista), and uninstall Sky Anytime (if present).
Download, and run KClean.exe: http://static.sky.com/kclean/KClean.exe to remove Kontiki from your computer.
NOTE: Kontiki is a known resource hog.

======================================================================

Print this post out, since you won't have an access to it, at some point.

1. Open HijackThis.

2. Close all windows, except for HijackThis.

3. Put checkmarks next to the following HijackThis entries:

O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-18\..\Run: [CTFMON.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\System32\CTFMON.EXE (User 'SYSTEM')
O4 - HKUS\.DEFAULT\..\Run: [CTFMON.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\System32\CTFMON.EXE (User 'Default user')

4. Click on Fix checked button.

5. Restart computer.

6. Post new HijackThis log.

Here you go, kontiki removed as I rarely use it, and CFTMON.EXE fixed in HJT. I'm sure I removed CFTMON ages ago, but anyway...

6. Download, and install WOT (Web OF Trust): http://www.mywot.com/. It'll warn you (in most cases) about dangerous web sites.

7. Run defrag at your convenience.

8. Read How did I get infected?, With steps so it does not happen again!: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic2520.html

9. Please, let me know, how is your computer doing.

De-fragging. Working a lot better, thank you Broni. Really appreciate your help in this.

One last question. The help topic on bleepingcomputer.com (in how to avoid getting viruses in the first place), said to ensure you install a Firewall. I did have ZoneAlarm but took it out cos it was slowing browsing down so much. What do you suggest? As you know, I'm running AVG, and I do run Malwarebytes every so often

You're very welcome :)
Windows firewall is perfectly fine. Make sure, it's on.

I'll mark this thread as resolved :)

ok, I've changed some passwords. I don't appear to have lost any money, so I must have got lucky!!!! PS I don't think I have Windows firewall running, can I install it?
