BSOD, custom computer Dxdiag and mini dump can be avail.

The minidumps are so sparse in occurrence that it almost has to be a bios setting, this time dealing with a memory setting like timing or voltage

Ok, Its a timing or Voltage Issue. I can address that. I have an Asrok Z77 xtreme motherboard. I had it set to a 'default' overclock of 4.0 which does supposedly adjust the memory timing.

I will go in AND disable any overclocking and return it to the default settings. I was wondering if I needed to re install windows.

The crashes are very random. I left for the gym this morning and left it running a full virus scan using Win Essentials and I usually do this about 2x a week. Today after I got back (1.5 hours) I had the blue screen up. I told windows not to reboot and keep it up so I can see it and take a picture.

Ok no overclocking for me. Ill go in and restore everything to the default settings.

Hopefully that will also address this.

I did notice that I did not have sound this morning. I have been losing my sound randomly and I can only get it back by pulling out and plugging back in the speaker plug (green) back into the back.

I don't know if this may be the cause. I uninstalled all sound drivers and re installed the one that came with the mother board today as well.

Thank you very much for your help.

Well I have reset my memory timings and reset my processor to default speeds. When I clicked the shutdown button I got this crash...

Anyway I am going to stop cache accleration and just run the Hard drive. If I have anymore crashes I will reinstall windows, which I am loathe to do but oh well.

Greetings and hopefully I will not have to visit this crash forum again. This morning after disconnecting my 'cache' drive and just running on my platter drive and verifying my memory timings I again had a crash as I exited a game.

I have since resigned myself that a new clean windows install is in order. I am searching for a back up drive and will reinstall as soon as I can get a drive to back up some photos of my family and some utilities and game exe's.

Feel free to look at what is this mornings mini dump.

Tmagic what does that mean?

At this point is this possibly a corrupt file in Windows?

Also I have been taught to always do a clean install on windows. In this case with me is it possible to reinstall OVER the existing windows or just do the right thing and clean install (wipe/reformat)?

"Tmagic what does that mean?"... Just what I said, non-descriptive error. Could be a bios setting, hard drive or memory, or even a program problem. When you begin an OS re-install select Custom and delete the existing partition. This is how you start a "clean" install
