Buying a new Laptop

hi everyone,

its not for me but my mate has asked for advice on a new laptop after a very violent virus destroyed his old desktop. all he wants it for is photos from a 10MP camera, sending the odd email and writing a few documents. i cant imagine he wants to spend to much. however my experties lies in desktops and not laptops or spelling =P. can anyone suggest anything that is any decent and where i can point him to get one from?

i dont know definatly. i wouldnt say over 500. but he wants some options so whatever you can think of really. doesnt need to be that high spec because he literally only wants it for that stuff and nothing else.
