What he was saying is that "The Arts" are for leisure.. and who has time for any of that when most People can't afford household supplies, or is trying to build a family, etc... Also, who has time for themselves, let alone time/money for non-productive people's aspirations...?
What I was saying is that there is a culture around creative people today that is toxic. They have a "you can't sit with us" attitude. You have to have certain political views to be accepted by that community and they're always trying to push those "views" into their art. From movies to music to books. lets look at the new starwars movies. Episodes 1, 2 and 3(I liked 3) were considered bad because of bad writing. Episodes 7, 8 and 9 were bad because they couldn't let starwars be starwars, they had to push all their diversity initiatives and inclusivity into it. They had to change something already good to push a political agenda. Then, everyone in the creative community had a circle jerk where they talked about how great they were and everyone who didn't like them were bigots.
I mean, at least James Camreon was honest about his Avatar movies being politically motivated so I could enjoy them.
As far as webcontent goes, everywebsite I goto feels like a rehash of another and for the most part, that's true. Most websites today are made from templates with a few colors adjusted.
And don't even get me started on modern music(hint, I'm started on modern music). Modern pop and rap is just mass produced garbage meant to print money for record labels. There are very few popular artists that I like and the ones I do like produce everything themselves. It's not like Nicki Minaj and Cardi B where a record label said "lets make her popular" and then hired a team of producers to write all their lyrics and music for her.
Going on to books, most of what I read is non fiction but I read a lot of sci-fi. Rather than criticize what I hate about modern books, I'm going to show how ignorant the creative types are of actual sci-fi masterpieces. I'm going to point to Dune where many 'creatives' said that was just another white man imperialist movie. Meanwhile, none of them seemed to be aware that Frank Herbert wrote the book with the intentions of showing how easy it is to use a cultures religion to manipulate and control them. The reason Paul Atreides in dune exiled himself was his regret for manipulating the Fremen to take back Dune for himself. He promised to turn Dune into an oasis for the Fremen but instead wanted to hold onto his wealth and power once he seized it back. I guess that story was too complex for the 'creative' types to understand and all the time studying Shakespare was wasted on them.
So I say let them be the ones who AI takes the jobs from first. They contribute almost nothing to society and a precedent needs to be set on the limits of AI in the work place. Someone has to lose their job in order for us to 1) see the true danger of AI taking peoples jobs and 2) upset an industry enough in order for their to be legal action to set a precedent over it. Let it be them.
