Converted from 32-bit to 64-bit -- problem

Hi, my name is Dot and this is my first post, so please forgive me if I have posted this on the wrong topic! I have a quad core athalon computer that was set up as a 32 bit 64 bit capable when I purchased it. I had upgraded it to 4 mb memory. I decided to upgrade it to Windows 7 so I did a clean install to Win 7 64 bit. Also at the same time I upgraded to 8 mb of memory. I was very disappointed with the speed after the upgrade. The overall running of the computer is fine. There are no lock ups or errors, but not nearly as fast as I had hoped. I had in my mind that it would fly. I installed a new video card (GTX 460) because the original was on the motherboard.
My Windows experience index is 5.9, which is much faster than the original 3.9 on the 32 bit system. Am I missing something? I have a particular online game that I play that takes forever. I can play it on my laptop twice as fast. The Windows experience is 5.0 on the laptop. Is there something else I can do?

Most likely you have too many processes and services running; try this:
get a command prompt and enter tasklist /svc >myProcs.txt

now open myProcs.txt, copy the contents and come back here and paste into your followup

If I did this wright here is my list:

You say your online game performance sucks. You should name the game.

i would recommend the following items be shut down and trying your game again:

PhotoshopElementsFileAgen 1508 AdobeActiveFileMonitor9.0
armsvc.exe 1596 AdobeARMservice
wmpnetwk.exe 2744 WMPNetworkSvc
ioloServiceManager.exe 4444 ioloSystemService

as all are known CPU hogs. Additionally you might try turning off this:

SearchIndexer.exe 2388 WSearch

The rest are pretty normal and expected. It seems to me that you are not running any anti virus program. This could also be part of the problem.

you have multiple copies of Chrome running, and using google I found this thread
If you scroll thru it, some like that features, others don't - - here's my concern
This is the reason why Chrome will not be my main browser.
Each instance is using between 20 and 30 MB and I am a heavy Tab user.
Way too much memory usage. I would rather see lower overhead then worry about crashes.
Me too. Frankly, I can remember the last time Firefox crashed on me.

@dikbozo made some good suggestions too :)

The game I am trying to play is Pioneer trail.

Do I go to the System Configuration Services tab? There are a couple I cannot find. Or do I go to command prompt and enter tasklist /svc >myProcs.txt and edit the text file.

I am using Norton 360.
Also I forgot to mention that when I was running 32 bit 4 mg memory, I could play Pioneer Trail. It was slow, but not as slow as this.

Thank you for your advice and your time.
