Couple of questions regarding my motherboard

I'm trying to spare some money so bare with me here, if i can upgrade this thing to the max of its capabilities it would be quite an achievement for me.

System Specs -

AMD ATHLON X2 3.6 GHZ
6GB DDR2 DUAL CHANNEL KINGSTON RAM 1.8v
1tb Sata HDD
XFX Geforce 7600 GT 256mb Video Card
Bios Revision Version 5001
ASUS M2AVM Mother Board

Okay so, a couple of questions regarding my Build.

I can up the processor to an AM3 but have very limited choices.

So i'm going to add a AMD PHENOM 2 X4 945 3ghz Socket AM3

My hyperthreading will be locked at 1,000 - Will this be a performance issue?

My Ram isnt running in dual mode,

I've got 1gb - 2gb - 1gb - 2gb (In that order)

is this an issue? theyre the same brand and voltage.


My last question.

I want to get a better video card. Maybe an ATI Raden 6890 made by XFX

To be frank, Am i going to bottleneck Hard?

imo use the two 2Gb sticks of ram in duel channel and leave out the two 1Gb sticks also a 6870 should be a good choice for your setup and yes there will be a small bottleneck but just crank up the settings and let the video card do the work for you. are you upgrading your motherboard? the cpu you picked will not work in your current board as far as i can tell. this is the best cpu you can get for your socket AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM2+ .after some reading it looks like am3 will work in your board you might have to upgrade your bios first.

Now my question is.

If i get another pair of 2gb sticks will i be able to run all four on dual channel?
