ctrl alt del not workin on laptop windows xp home

I have a windows xp home ed. toshiba laptop and its fairly new.My problem is that ctrl alt del is not workin.The ctrl button works on its own though.I have tried running taskmgr from RUN but it says that the file is in use.Any help would be appreciated

I'm having the exact same problem on a fairly new gateway laptop. I'd really appreciate some help.

Try the System File Checker first. Click Start-Run and type SFC /SCANNOW

It will probably ask you to put in your XP CD, so keep it handy.
