Highly anticipated: After teasing fans with a strange Twitch stream that spat out a seemingly-random array of symbols, letters, and numbers, Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red kicked off a full, 48-minute demo of the highly-anticipated game to the public. You can watch livestream VODs of the gameplay now, or wait for the archived footage to hit the web later today.

If you've been following Cyberpunk 2077 for as many years as I have, you've probably been eager to feast your eyes on actual gameplay - the highly-anticipated title was kept under-wraps by developer CD Projekt Red since its teaser trailer debuted back in 2013.

However, the developer finally broke the silence at E3 2018, showing off a brief in-engine game trailer to the public, and a private 50-minute demo to the press. While this re-reveal was welcome news to long-time fans, many still wanted to see the game in action.

Some expected a gameplay trailer to show up at Gamescom, but it seems CD Projekt Red had other plans.

After teasing users with a strange Twitch stream today that simply spat out a series of characters, the game's full-length demo -- previously only shown off behind closed doors -- kicked off, much to the surprise of fans.

The demo is fast-paced and shows off a fairly wide range of game content - you'll see combat sequences, driving, dialogue, and even the installation of "Cyberware" augmentations in main character V's body.

The demo livestream is over as of writing, but you can watch an archived version of the footage above via the official Cyberpunk 2077 YouTube channel.

This is still is development so just take that into consideration. It doesn't even have a release date yet.

Looks like every other SP/MP shooter..
Hhahaha get real! Because it has a gun and first person? I like how you just undermine years of hard work as "every other". LMFAOO, you remind me of that south park when everything just sounds like farts.

Name a title coming remotely close to the likeness of this. Deus Ex is about as close as you're going to get fyi..and that game will look like it was made in 2 months in comparison.

I'm not sure how real you want me to get but it looks like every other shooter I've seen. What "new" things does it bring to the table? Puzzles, hacking, picking locks, jumping, quests, defying gravity, etc..all been done before. Sorry if that hurts your feelings. I'm honestly trying to figure out how old you are with those less than mature statements? Undermine years of hard work, like no other games took years? I never said it wouldn't be good or sell well.

Correct. A lot of what's on display here has been in video games of this genre since the 90s and early 2000s. More recently, Deus Ex: HR and MD.

The only real difference here is that CDPR is trying to integrate them with more complex systems on a larger scale.

Expectations should be tempered accordingly.

Yeah its all been done before but was it really like "every other" though? That would be like comparing cars and going, yeah they both got 4 wheels and a steering wheel, seen it already.

So you agree it's got nothing new and offer me nothing tangible to change my mind. Just offer a car analogy and something about farts. Maybe we should just leave it at that.

Clearly the story is something you've never experienced before. Not to mention, a city of that detail, with that many NPCs and that level of interactivity with zero loading screens? Never been done before. That city is DENSE. If the witcher 3 is anything to go by, it will also have choices that will significantly impact gameplay. I'm not talking about ME level changes, I'm talking about changes to the entire game world.

Game systems aren't just black and white "it's been done before" and "it's not been done before". There are a billion ways to make an FPS and the implementation in more important then the generalization. It'd be like writing off car because wheels have been done before.

They have said the same before Witcher 3... so wrong...

It needs to have a more hardcore mode to appease the pen and paper players. shooting an early game weak badguy to death takes 10 bullets?!

**yawn**

No need to get over-enthusiastic over hyped games.

Maybe it's different, but most games nowadays are the same, nevertheless.

Maybe can try the game a bit if it comes during a steam free weekend. If liked, then can purchase.

You bet, I'm sure this is the one that will mark a new era of gaming. Oh, and car analogies have been done to death as well. Some people just can't stand that other people don't agree with them.

Simple analogies for simple people.
