Dell touchpad not working

My touchpad started not working properly a while after I installed a windows 10 update, then I checked my device manager it was a PS/2 compatible mouse ,my keyboard a alsoo the same.after a while my mouse will occasionally stop working either partially or completely, I tried reinstalling the windows but it is still the same : PS/2 compatible mouse and my keyboard is also the same, some of the letter do not appear when I type.
please what should I do?

First thing to try is installing some newer driver packages from Dell:

Start with the Intel Chipset Device Software, then the Dell Update Application, and Dell Update Application for Windows 10.
