DOS program prints to HP4050 thru parallel port, need replacement

Using Q&A from the 80's, works in Win 7 (32bit) window just fine. Prints to parallel port using the old HP4 print driver to an old HP 4050 Laserjet. Currently, my last HP 4050 bit the dust (or $350 repair w/o warranty). Can I jerry-rig a port on the PC so a newer HP printer (usb) might accept the print command somehow? Or... suggestions?
