Downgrade Win 7 to XP, sound not working

I have a Del inspiron 1440, came with Windows 7 OEM. Downgraded to windows XP
i keep trying to install the driver and uninstalling it but i keep getting the same message. "There was a problem installing this hardware: IDT high definition audio CODEC. This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

I also get "device object not present, restart and try again"

Where are you getting your Windows XP drivers? Dell does not support this laptop for Windows XP, only Vista and Windows 7.

im aware that dell doesnt offer this computer in an XP version, if it did, i would not be having these problems. Windows 7 sucks, and vista is an abomination lol. I got it working finally.
Most of the drivers (ethernet, video, etc.) were easy enough to find a windows version of. I dont remember where exactly i found the driver for the audio codecs but after 3 hours of searching the web and trying different versions of the driver one of them finally worked. If you would like to know where i found the driver ill try and do some back tracking to find the one that worked.
