OK, first salute to TS (Howard H, Julio, et al).
Since my last issue in '07, I have new gear. New HP slimline 3300 w/Anthlon 64 desktop (April 08) and a new HP laptop with same processor November 07). Both are connected via a Linksys wireless G router as both units are wireless. Running via DSL.
As of about 10 days ago, I am now experiencing a 1 second or so interval polling of the hard drive on the desktop. I went to taskmanager and tried stopping services one at a time to see if I could catch what it was to no avail. There were a few services that shut down several others at once, and some can't close. I don't recall any new programs that changes anything.
I use AVG free AV + AVG AntiSpyware + ZoneArlm firewall.
Weekly, I run following (per previous TS recommendations):
Spybot
Ad-Aware 2007
Spyware Blaster
Cccleaner
It's not catching anything that changes what's happening. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.
