DVD directory not found?

Hello fellas,
I have an older computer that can get very moody...Windows XP....but now when I put a dvd in to play....a pop up window says: DVD Directory can not be found!
Does anyone have any idea's whats wrong now?

Yes, the DVD drive needs to be replaced
