Elite Dangerous pilot spent a week outside the Milky Way before being rescued

I just meant you can be clever if you actually try. You're doing that by criticizing a game you have nothing to do with?
Well then, it seems to me, you don't have to be a movie producer to be a movie critic. Or have such things changed in this sorry century?

So, teach me a lesson, don't post back on this for a week. Leave me "hanging outside the galaxy", so to speak. A week after that, I'll expect to be given some kind of "honor", for being "lost".

FWIW, sci-fi movies succeed by "suspension of disbelieve". As SFX have improved so dramatically, it becomes harder and harder to, "imagine", the outrageously hyperbolic situations which exist in modern movies. "Guardians of the Galaxy II", is, (IMHO of course). the latest prime example of this.

So, as I sit here, I'm trying hard, (and failing miserably, I might add), to "imagine" I'm in a spaceship, floating in the middle of nowhere", arguing with you, while also imagining that spring is just around the corner, and the 6 inches of plowed, chunk snow, on my pavement will disappear as soon as I blink my eyes.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go check the air pressure in my head. I have an air compressor in the living room, which avoids me having to call anyone to assist me with this arduous, and frequently required task.

I meant that to include you don't play the game. You can always have an opinion, and any opinion you want. But from my point of view, your thoughts on the story and game in general don't mean much if your knowledge doesn't extend beyond this article. So again, think and say whatever you want, but your opinion means a lot more when you have context.

I'll pass on the lesson.

Oh, I don't know, I seem to revel in being a pundit on topics this frivolous. But then I'm not really a gamer. Would you deprive an old man of that simple pleasure?

As far as your concerns of "a larger game context" go, why on earth would I want to get involved deeper, when "records" are awarded for "running out of gas on a deserted country road"? I'm well aware that space fantasies are an ingrained part of human culture, but I still believe there are limits as to how deeply one should indulge them.

You are deprived of nothing.

I understand you don't want to learn more about the game. I think that if you don't see why someone would play a game like Euro Truck Simulator, this won't convince you either. I think you are extrapolating too much from this one record. I submit that the existence of this record does not exclude the possibility that the game has entertainment value. Why put limits on anyone but yourself? If you aren't interested, cool. To say that no one should be interested is just being a jerk who has not even tried to understand the game and instead dismisses it.
