Elon Musk deletes official SpaceX and Tesla Facebook pages

I've already been butthurt over Facebook and stopped using it for five years. Why would I follow them, now that they are butthurt? They didn't give a **** about me when I was butthurt.
I don't think you understand the meme "butthurt". Looks like you just thought it would be cool to use the word in every sentence. Trying to butthurt all the butthurt butthurts?

Anybody who deletes their Facebook account due to the "Cambridge Analytica data scandal" doesn't understand what it's even about. This was not Facebook's fault and when they found out about it, they did what they could to put an end to it. They also demanded the private information be immediately deleted. I love Elon Musk but clearly he deleted those accounts mainly because he didn't even know he had them.
In one paragraph you proved that YOU don't understand what this is all about. Facebook's entire business model relies on exposing people's private information to third parties so it can be monetized through targeted advertising. They absolutely did NOT do everything they could, in fact they did nothing at all. It's kind of like setting the speed limit of 50 and when you notice some people are doing 100+ you tell them "please stop that", but there's no actual cops or anyone to enforce the speed limit if they don't stop.

The funny thing is that this will keep happening over and over again despite whatever changes Facebook promises they're going to make in the future. Like I said, their entire business model relies on exposing people's private information for profit. You might as well ask banks to stop lending money or sharks to stop swimming. Once they do that, they're dead.

I checked my FB after few years of not using it, and I found in my profile that I am working in escort service. I don't know if somebody I know did it or it was hacked. Good thing I used fake name.
I didn't delete FB, just updated my work place, I work on Adventure Galley now--Hurrrrr!

Hello, I own a small business and facebook is a huge source of advertisement & promotion for me & im sure countless other small businesses, so no, lets not delete FB. Alot of their issues can still be resolved and even regulated, I dont see how just deleteling FB is gonna resolve the problem? Even if ppl did, another dozen social media giants would just emerge to fill the vacuum.

You are right, the last part, Let FB die, and let others take it's place, and they will never do the same **** FB did, or else they know how it will play out in the end ;)

Before facebook there was myspace. look what happen to it. Social medias nothing more than a fad. Here today and gone years later. Then rea appear with a different look and name.

Face is and always has been s h ! t

Anything you can of material importance can be accomplished via other means.

The I, Me, Mine attitude of its user base is the core of the problem... and the addiction.

I have mixed feelings about Elon's statements. Delighted that he deleted them, confused that he didn't realize SpaceX had a Facebook account. I mean, how could he not know? Maybe the man doesn't have time for BS like social media, but he must have employees whose job it is to keep these accounts alive and up-to-date.

You "love Elon Musk"?
Why?
Do you personally know him / related to him / working for him?
