Twitter atm is the only popular SNS that I can stomach to use to get in touch with the Japanese creators, with one grave flaw - I have to set up my follow list so I can chain jump from person to person and I have to log in from a Japanese IP address. Otherwise, bye trends and valuable commented crosslinks, I'll be led into the darkrealm really soon if I allow cookies from a different country and don't use ad/scriptblocking.

I'm at the point where I much rather prefer to get in touch with people I'm interested in via their creator pages or via TweetDeck's strict filtering.

Changes are much needed in the form of strict topic/hashtag blocking, as well as location-specific trends by choice (down to a district area), not by actual physical position. I'm fortunate to be good at this nightmarish task of sorting it out, most people aren't.

Having your voice suppressed, by anyone, is wrong. It may be "legal" but it's still wrong.

Being forced to spread someone else's voice is also wrong.

Whether we like it or not, the only real bearing that 'free speech' has on anyone's life is as a legal construct.

I think Trump being removed from Twitter was an improvement, though. I don't read tweets, but other media keep reporting what he says there, and it is wasting my time and everyone else's. He never says anything insightful, useful, and rarely anything even truthful. So really, that worked out well.

To be frank I think you’re lying out of your backside when you say you like Trump being removed because his tweets were annoying. Lots of people publish annoying tweets and lots of media outlets still push them, Trumps removal hasn’t stopped the “mainstream” news outlets from reporting Twitter.

Trump being removed from Twitter is blatant political censorship. Twitter is effectively a virtual public space owned by a few extremely rich men. I did and still do think that we need a digital bill of rights that tech companies should be required to give to its users. Creating a fair playing field regardless of the political biases of the billionaires who own and profit from it.

I don’t like Trump, I wouldn’t vote for him (I merely prefer him to Biden). But we have to let him speak to the public, if you don’t want that it’s because you don’t believe your own ideals can stand up to scrutiny.

Musk doesn't need to be the largest shareholder in order to make a bid for Twitter. Anyone can make a bid for twitter if they can show they have the funds. Twitter was sitting below $30 a share and Musk offered them $54+ a share.

The NYP along with several others including the FBI had Hunters hard drive. If that isn't proof then I don't know what is.
