hey can any one help with this. recently got a pile of nasty stuff on2 my system and still not sure how. been goin through few forums and ran all usual stuff (spybot, ewido, CWShredder adaware SE etc) and a lot of stuff was removed alrite. but prob is something is still hangin about. i no this as i get words highlighted as links in every page i visit advertising crap! heres my hijackthis log. if any1 can shed sum light on this please help as its really annoying!!!

You are not sure how? Well, how about LimeWire? It can get you nasty stuff fast I think. If you have to use p2p, well then don't open anything until it's scanned and better use another program (don't ask here).
I'm not an expert, but I think these need fixing:

R1

Go HERE and follow the instructions in the order they are given.


Post a fresh HJT log as an attachment, only after doing the above.

k i did all the reccommended stuff. onlt thin is aboutbuster dnt exist nemor and spysweeper dnt do online sweeps emor. so just wanna c if i'm clean from now on. i even followed the srcurity update help 4 XP!
 
No problem. To see if you're cleean, you'll need to run HJT and post the log as a .txt attachment (see the "manage attachments" button when you reply.)

Aboutbuster does still exist, I`ve just this second downloaded it.

And the spysweeper online scan has now become the free spyaudit. I have edited the instructions to reflect this.

Post a fresh HJT log, only after following as many of the instructions as you can.

latest stuff

my pc still wont let me connect 2 the site 4 aboutbuster. keeps timin out. but everything else has been folowed so does it luk like i still have problems? heres my log
 
Boot into safe mode. See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html


Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

SupaDial
SpywareRemover

Close control panel.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

SupaDial.exe
SpywareRemover.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SupaDial] C:\Program Files\SupaDial\SupaDial.exe /A

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpywareRemover] C:\Program Files\SpywareRemover\SpywareRemover.exe -boot

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files(if there).

C:\Program Files\SupaDial\SupaDial.exe /A
C:\Program Files\SpywareRemover\SpywareRemover.exe -boot

Reboot into normal mode and turn system restore back on.
