Epomaker's NT68 is an alternative to your MacBook's crummy keyboard

In brief: Are you fed up with your MacBook’s scissor or butterfly keyboard, but can’t quite bring yourself to actually part ways with the machine? If so, a new wireless keyboard from Epomaker might be worth a look.

The Epomaker NT68 is billed as the world’s first portable 65 percent wireless mechanical keyboard with an invisible stand. Notably, the “invisible” stand can also fold away completely and you can apparently even lay the NT68 over your MacBook’s keyboard and use it as a “true” replacement.

Epomaker’s latest is being offered with a variety of mechanical switches from Gateron (blue, brown, black, red) as well as the team’s own chocolate switches (blue, red, silver brown, rose brown). The built-in 1900mAh battery is good for two to five weeks of runtime depending on usage. With the RGB lights on, battery life drops drastically to just 20-80 hours. A full recharge over USB takes 8-10 hours, we’re told.

The board can either be hardwired over USB or connected wirelessly using Bluetooth 5.1.

Worth adding is the fact that the NT68 can also be used with Windows machines, and even Android and iOS devices. Buyers will also receive a proprietary slim magnetic case for easy transfer.

Interested parties can sign up to be notified when the Epomaker NT68 is available to purchase. No word yet on how much cheddar you’ll have to part with.

Apple stopped selling Macbooks awhile ago, and keyboards on all the current laptops are excellent. You don't want this toy from the typing-machine era for your Apple laptop, unless you want to be laughed at.

Page down and up, insert, forward delete, full size arrows: good. I prefer Home and End to Ins and Del but that's OK. However the good (non-touchbar) Mac KBs have half size F keys and this really should have those to be perfect.

macbook pro and macbook air are both macbooks.

Literally any desktop keyboard is an improvement over those garbage butterfly keys. Even in integrated laptops the last of the phat macbook pros had far superior keyboards.

Epomaker is a trash company. They don't manufacture the keyboards in question, don't brand 'em, and basically dropship them from China. Their customer support is actively hostile, and their keycaps are super cheap.

Yes! I've never had a lot of space and the tiny Apple wired KBs from 6 or 7 years ago were my favorites for a while (still have 2) but when PC gaming I started with TKLs. I now use the AJazz AK33 (82 keys), which is pretty much what I described. Not sure if that's a 75% or not but it has exactly the keys I want and none that I don't. And with Black-equivalent switches it also matches the feel Iike. Super lucky that it exists as it's a perfect fit and not expensive at all at $50.

It is! I have a TKL right now and thinking of switch to a custom 75%, but since I don't want to have both keyboards and I have it with lubed gateron yellow I might wait to see if I can sell it.
And with a programmable pcb I wouldn't have a problem if I need some extra keys.
