Noob here, but not too new with computers. Nice to see there's a forum for this. Nice work.
My drive (Western Digital WD2000JB) will not go higher than mode 2 ultra DMA, which apparently is no faster than 33.3 mbps (slow). I have it enclosed in a case that uses the USB 2.0 protocol to connect it externally to my laptop. I get messages from my software warning me that my hard drive is too slow and I need to get it up to Ultra DMA 5 or 6 if possible. The jumper is set to master (i.e. removed completely). The drive works, but is simply slow. Any help would be more than appreciated =D. I've take some screen shots to assist you and attached them.
