Ez-Cap audio problem

Hey guys Im starting out with using a capture card and recording gameplay etc.
I use the Ezcap as it's pretty cheap.
The Video is good quality, however I am having some audio problems. Ive bought a splitter and have the red and white audio cables connected to that with an audio cable going from that into the mic jack onto my pc.

The audio is reasonable but it gets a bit weird and it can't handle high pitch noises. Im guessing it's the static from the splitter.

Is there anyway I can hook up the two audio cables straight into my laptop so I can record the audio or a way of minimizing the static with a better splitter.

Would an RCA adapter work or is there another way I haven't heard about.

Cheers guys

I don't know about the 'kit' you are using, but I do a fair bit of experimenting with recording into the pc, and I have found many times that it's very easy to overload the input with too high audio signal. If you can attenuate or at least try a range of levels, you might get one or two that suit the setup you have.
