Folders is Vista permanently hidden.

  1. Several of my folders in Vista, including my Documents folder and my User folder seem to have been permanently hidden somehow. The only way to access them is to type the path into the title bar, because selecting "Show Hidden Files and Folders" doesn't have nay effect, they remain hidden.

Once I do get into a folder, I can open up the properties for it but the checkbox for "Hidden" is check and grayed out, and I am unable to unset it. Any ideas how to fix this? I have run virus and spyware scans with AVG that found nothing.

EDIT: Woops, title should say "Folder in Vista Permanently Hidden"

This has something to do with permissions on the map. I tried to unlock that but it won't work.
