Hi All,

I have made a new rig and wanted to transfer the video/music from old IDE hard drive.

I have tried two IDE to USB convertors and when I try to access my old hard driver from My Computer I receive the error "Format Disk"

I have restarted my PC and now it doesn't even detect it!

Sounds like the partition table is messed up on the IDE hdd. The data is still there, but windows just cannot figure out how to "read" that drive. More than likely you'll need a 3rd party application to view the data on the drive and copy it accordingly. I use UFS explorer in the shop to recover data from customers' hdds http://www.ufsexplorer.com/download_std.php There are many other 3rd party data recovery programs/application out there, just google it & I'm sure you'll find one that fits your needs.

Post back, Hope this helps!!
