Game of Thrones fans abuse Google algorithms to link the search term 'bad writers' to...

Was Arya really dead? I thought she was just covered in ash! Was she really riding to Valhalla or wherever the GoT afterlife is? Will we find out for sure in the final episode?

For those who waded through the books, the first one was great, the second and third OK but slower, and from then on it was all downhill with turgid writing and plot circles like a patch of short and curlies. So it's no surprise the last season should disappoint.

There's one thing I can tell you without reservations about the conclusion season of 8 of GoT. The season 8 Blu-ray set of only 6 episodes, will be the same price or more, than the season 1 through 6 Blu-ray sets, with 10 episodes each.

Rubble falling on anyone doesnt always kill them. Large stones will but we didnt see anything like that hitting Arya. Was mainly just rubble and ash.
She did get a lil charred from the Dragon.

We may find out about the horse in the last episode. Maybe it doesnt mean anything, just a horse in the right place at the right time, convient sure but not impossible. However, some have said it was just a throwback to like season 4 when Arya was riding a white horse or if you paid attention to the little girl Arya tried to save, was holding white wooden horse.
Some have said that the horse is representing the white horse from the 4 horsemen from the bible and that Arya is Death. She will kill Dany. We will all know soon enough.

The Night King being killed wasnt a surprise, especially since they knew how to kill him. They just had to get close enough. Arya did as shes been trained to do so. Night King dropped his guard and Arya did the move which was so freaking cool. I liked it.

As for Hound making his way into The Red Keep, there was a freakin Dragon destroying the area, I doubt anyone gave a crap anything else. Plus it was just chaos going because of the Dragon, not hard to fathom anyone could have just walked in, in those circumstances.

Euron finding Jamie was complete bs. First, the ships were destroyed way out at sea which you can see them burning when the camera pans looking at the castle. Then, how did he get to that spot, he couldnt have. He could not have made that swim in that time. Also he seemed to be waiting for Jamie, he couldnt have known but seemed he knew. Also the person playing Euron has said his character was freakin stupid n he didnt like it. This is the only part of the episode I didnt care for.
Jamie being stabbed twice in either side n still walking, bs. He wouldnt even be getting up with that much blood loss. Those wounds were killer and no way would he be moving around, let alone make a trip from the ocean cave to the Red Keep.

As for the 2nd Dragon being killed by Euron, well Dany didnt see him n the ships. The dragon was hit in the same spot it was hurt by the 1 first dragon aka undead dragon. Then after that, the other shots followed, it was over for the 2nd dragon.

I didnt have any issues over the third dragon doing all the damage. Was kinda expected. She dropped right on the ships, they missed, and the reload time isnt instant. Not all ships had those arrow guns. But again, if you miss it can cost you. Dany has always been good at maneuvering riding with the dragons. She is the freakin Dragon Queen, remember.
She surprised Kings Landing by coming from the backside which they probably thought they were protected by the ships or just didnt think she would come from that way, oops.
She hit the towers/wall hard n again if you fire a arrow and miss, it can cost you. It cost them all.

Google Search result manipulation is pretty common on Reddit.

Try searching "the slowest thing in the universe" in Google Image and you'll find Intel Core i9. Don't take my word for it, you can try it for yourself.

LOL...Rotten Tomatoes reviews by Millennials whining Millennial style. Yeah, that's real convincing.

There's nothing wrong with the writing. People are just pissed that it's not turning out the way THEY want it and being vocal about it.

... etc etc.

Come now. You not having a problem with the writing doesn't mean that the writing is good. There are things that are just straight up bad about it - though it's not as catastrophic as some are making it out to be.

Tyrion has become a total sap, whereas he was the most cunning and ingenious character on the show for 6 seasons. Neither he nor Varys realised that staying in a Crypt was a bad idea when the-bloke-who-raises-the-dead is coming?

Why has Bran's storyline about being a Warg been totally abandoned, what was the point in that? Why is the 'three-eyed raven' in any way important, other than as a secondary piece of evidence as to Jon's parentage? Why did the Night King care about the Three-eyed Raven? Why is Tyrion constantly blind-sided by exactly the kind of things he manoeuvred through in earlier seasons? How was Cersei not 'showing' when she was meant to be many months pregnant? How did (in S7) Gendry make it from the Ice Pass, back to the wall, get a message to Dragonstone, and Daenerys flew up past the wall in less than a frigging day?

The "hero armour" in this season is ridiculous. Jon Snow hides behind a brick wall and dragon flames aimed at him just waft gently past. But Drogon is able to blow up entire streets with a single breath?

The Night King, this emotionless, calculating being, decides to stand in front of Bran for 5 seconds, smirking, allowing time for Arya to somehow pop out of the shadows unnoticed - when in the same episode the Wights heard blood dripping on the floor - even though Bran was encircled by the dead. Where did Arya come from?

Similarly, the shots in the Battle of Winterfell, the tactical decisions and the immortality of the main characters all just felt ridiculous.

Episode 5 was probably the best of the season so far, but cinematography aside it would have been an average episode for an earlier season - it's just that the bar has been set really low this year, sadly.

Your attempt to write off criticism because it's " a FANTASY series of all things" rings a bit hollow when the reason this FANTASY show is so popular is because it was fantastically well written as a political drama with a fantastical backdrop. It's never just been "shiny hero defeats ugly orc" like so much fantasy.

There have been some brilliant moments in Season 8, but it really isn't of the calibre of the earlier seasons. In Seasons 1-6 the shocking moments felt like the twists and turns of a world whose unpredictability could be brutal. In seasons 7 and 8 the shocking moments feel like hatchet jobs.

@Polycount Like dude, than's for the spoiler topic. :p

I have the 1st 7 seasons still in their boxes..I've been waiting to watch them, until after I can buy the season 8 set on Blu-ray.

I'm leaving now, not even going to look up the page.

or maybe they are upset because they watched several seasons of the best writing they’d ever seen slowly degenerate into season eight where things that make absolutely no sense start to occur at breakneck pace .
You and me don't always get along in the comment section but this, this is just the straight up truth!

I see both sides, I think A LOT of people are bitching because it isn't turning out they way they think it should BUT at the same time it feels rushed and so many inconsistencies have plagued the show this season. I have enjoyed this season for the most part.

It doesn't have to turn out the way people want if it is done correctly with good cinematic's and it makes sense following the previous 7 seasons. None of that happened for the most part. That being said I enjoyed this last episode. It was entertaining and CGI was great in that part regardless of the rest. That still doesn't make up for the whole season.

This reminded me of the Matrix... it was cool until it was cool.

The first Matrix film was flawless.

The second was basically ruined and the 3rd was a mess.

Very entertaining and watchable but there was simply so much in the writing that made no sense in the second and third film.

Thus far John Wick has lived up to fan expectations in the sequel. I just pray the 3rd film will continue the trend. Most sequels tend to disappoint.

Game of Thrones, unlike Star Wars, Matrix, John Wick and most movies, however is longer and builds fans quicker over a longer period of time. It should be compared to the Sopranos - another series which many will say was ruined by the final episode.

I was not happy with the 7th season as welll and it was the first bell for me that something is going wrong. And I'm really unhappy with the 8th. However this is the HBO choice but my choise is to ignore GoT Blue-ray collections because so long great story was smashed out by so stupid final. There is not a reason to pay to get same negative expirience again. I don't understand why they spent so many time and money to produce such kind of garbage like the 8th season.

In my opinion, GoT became a thing when you couldn't really expect anything but the unexpected -let's consider someone who didn't read the books-, it broke out of the traditional heroes-like stream where you knew the core team would always get out of trouble -unless they were cutting someone off- or this was at least until it became predictable, you knew exactly who was going to die and who was not going to die even when all the odds were against them, it took the "real" side of it and turned it into a fan service show, a very bad written one at most.

That's why I say, it was cool until it was cool, they really killed the crap out of the movie. It should've stopped when Neo set everyone free and be done with it, the flying ending however... they stretched the duck out of the idea.

On the contrary, I found the 2nd John Wick pointless and extremely disappointing. It was basically a copy of the first one, without a real story (They did a great job on the first one) and lots of extra action time. If I remember correctly I fell asleep while watching it, it's way too boring in my book.

Yup, even the previous season was starting to stink and this latest one is HOT GARBAGE!

I think if you asked a group of school students to write these eps they would do a better job.

You are definitely in the minority on that one.

John Wick 2 was in its entirety: fan service.

I wanted to believe that Season 7 was gonna have a strong ending in Season 8. I wanted to believe that it was just buildup to the climax.

The only real climax we got thus far in Season 8 was CleganeBowl with a suprisingly satisfying end to Qyburn.

The Nightking's dead was a letdown and Cersei got killed by the ceiling.

BTW: shouldn't a cellar like that have been "safe" from collapse?

I kinda started to give up on it since season 5, when they had gradually departed from the books and began to oversimplify characters and story, but I noticed most people heartily enjoy a medieval soap opera rather than a fantasy grounded in medieval realism, including some of my friends, so, in the end, I suppose it`s just a matter of taste.

Well... what do you expect in the era of misinformation, blatant lies and drug abuse? People who voted to legalize marijuana and uncontrolled immigration don't really deserve better writing. You wanted the society to go down the drain, well, there you have it.

And yes, it's gonna be even worse next year. Every action causes reaction. You vote for ****, you get **** back. Bye, bye, civilization. Welcome crime and gray goo.

I've been waiting to binge watch GoT, which they have at my local library. After reading these comments, I may blow it off.

What I read here is somewhat true of so many series -- they tend to deteriorate in the last few seasons.

Am I the only one who finds it strange why the one dragon didn't run out of breath?
And castle rocks don't crumble to fire like that.

Sounds like you're the one abusing drugs...

Hey I was right! Arya wasn't dead. It was just ash and a white horse last week! Well what do you know!
