Gaming PC sales growing fast in the US

Spoken like a console loyalist. "Capable" and "top of the line" are two separate things.
No. I am so pc gamer more than any kind of gamer. Facts are facts. I can get a ps4 for around $300. If I don't spend around $300 on just the gpu on my computer, I can't run at anything respectable. Top of the line is more like around $1000 per component, not $300.
I got my RX 480 for $200, maxes out any game I have at 1080p, and my i5 4570 cost me $140 used. My mobo cost $50, as did my RAM and PSU. And my case cost like $30. And then my two drives cost me about $100 together. Everything there cost significantly less than $300, yet my PC is capable IMO, though admittedly mid-range. You don't have to waste money to have a good PC, you just have to look for deals, and prioritize what matters, based on what you want to do.

I just hope AMD survives long enough to see this through. I'm sure the 24% drop in their stock price isn't encouraging.

That's entirely stock boys' optimism, looking for a killing. Check the graph since last year. Not that I want to start a discussion.

The Q1 financial results are well below where they should be and the market is reacting accordingly. Patience for AMD is wearing thin. AMD needs something undeniably awesome for the masses and they don't have that.

Polaris wasn't it.
Ryzen isn't it.
Vega and rebrands won't be it.

I grew out of the "gaming" thing a very long time ago , I am a relentless surf fisherman however and my spinning reel did cost $750.00 so I can relate to those high end video cards.
