Problem is it's not the developers doing it, it's the publishers using a third party advertising company to inject the ads into the content. It's an ad platform for games just like the web has one for sites. What the hell is this crap? I am NOT going to watch ads in any game I PAY for.
To game devs:
This will be market suicide. DON'T do it!
Devs, publishers... Whatever. If the devs tolerate this crap from the publishers, they can be grouped together. And they all can get knotted, get bent or sit on a cactus even..Problem is it's not the developers doing it, it's the publishers using a third party advertising company to inject the ads into the content. Oh gee can you explain it to me? Seriously, go slow.../sIf you understood game development a bit more you'd understand why it's a big distinction.
Most developers have some say. Trust me on that one.Developers take a lot of flack for things that they can't control because they don't call most of the shots.
That can be true. But most dev houses can and do define terms of development and publishing. They're really like any other frontline employee, they get told what to do by the publishers which are the real villain's of the piece, just like they've always been.
