Google has been tracking Android users even when location services are disabled

I really do not understand why people have this notion in their heads that iPhones are more expensive because it's not true.
Well, it kinda is true, you've picked out the two most expensive Android phones. They're not even the best phones in the Android Market yet you've picked them anyway.

How about those of us who are mere mortal's and don't want to spend any more than £500 on a phone? OnePlus 5T? Sony Xperia XZ1? In fact, loads of Android Phones, apart from the Samsung's and Google's own vision, can be had for under £500.

So I ask you again, If I don't want to spend a small fortune on a phone, where do I go? iOS is clearly out of the question, Windows Phone is out of the question and as @Theinsanegamer pointed out, Firefox and Ubuntu Phone OS's never caught on.

Edit: Before you come back to me with "get an iPhone second hand" or "get the silly little SE instead" or something to that effect, think about those options very carefully.

Oneplus 5t is the best android phone you can today.

Fully agreed, When my phone gives up the ghost, I'll definitely be checking out the latest OnePlus at the time (y)

Edit: Or the next Razer phone or something from Huawei Possibly...

How the hell can you say that? I mentioned Samsung phones, they have some of the best damn hardware you can buy!!! The best processors, the best screens, the best cameras, the best damn everything that the Android world has to offer!!! There is no other device on the planet that can go toe to toe with a Samsung other than quite possibly an iPhone. Samsung simply represents the pinnacle of what the Android world has to offer, nobody else can touch them in the premium hardware department.

Best hardware means nothing when there is bad software involved. The Mate 10 with the kirin 970 processor is both much cheaper and faster than Samsung Note 8. Not to mention better battery life, just as good camera, Guaranteed smooth running software for longer periods, better-placed fingerprint sensor, and IR Blaster. The Samsung note 8 is an overpriced android phone and compared to some of the less expensive flagships, it's handily beaten in terms of software and reliability you know things that matter the most. Whereas the note 8 has marginal wins on the screen, maybe camera (DXO ranked the mate 10 as having a better camera), and features nobody really care for such as half-baked iris scanner.

Comparing this situation to the microtransactions in games. You pay for an Android device and Google earn even more using your data later. So much more that you can't imagine. Sure it's good that you don't need to buy loot boxes. But people still believe in privacy. Whole digital industry must be regulated by goverment. I will not tire of repeating it. And absolutely stupid rely on Google's promises that they stop tracking you and only some small part information of you. Really? For how long?

Pretty nasty if you have a bounty on your head, meh otherwise. What about those apps that are granted full access to your contacts, camera and heck even photos? lol. That has to stop.

No s**t Sherlock! I could have told you that!!! Google's whole purpose of being in business is to collect and sell your data! And worst of all, Android is the Trojan horse that Google used to get all of you hooked into their massive data collection systems and all of you fell for it hook, line, and sinker.
So what do you suggest I use instead? Pay over double the price for iOS? Or maybe switch to Windows Phone?
Windows phones from 7-10 are still safe to use. Microsoft said it stopped supporting them, but apparently they still get essential updates. Microsoft would finally make inroads if it didn't keep killing off its phones.
