you need to install Intel drivers. Go follow my link below on games, half way down the page provides you with a shortcut to Intel's website where you can find the drivers at.

grrr!

When I saw that the problem with my SiS 650 card and DirectX 9.0 problem was solved i was really happy!! But then I clicked on the link to download the thingy that fixed it but then it came up with that 'page cannot be displayed/cannot find server' thing. I was just wondering if anyone knew another place that i culd download it from. please :D.

there's always google.. just try and type in the name of the driver and there maybe other hosts that have it, or try the website again tomorrow or some other pc...

Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help me out... I'm running windows (XP Home Edition 5.1, Build 2600) through boot camp on my MacBook Pro and I've been getting the error message when I try to play The Sims. Here's my info:

System Manufacturer: Apple Computers, Inc.
System Model: MacBookPro2,2
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7400 @ 2.16 GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1008MB RAM
Page file: 88 MB used, 2336MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Video Card Name: n/a
Approx. Total Memory: n/a
(The Video Card Name is listed as unavailable under the display, but according to apple, it's an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 128MB SDRAM)

I hope I listed everything needed. Help is greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem...I know it has to work..because it has worked before just last week till I have to reinstall windows again.

Windows XP
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Model: AWRDACPI
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD Athlon
Memory: 1024MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c

the display part it says all n/a

kel555 - you'll need to find out your graphics adapter/card and install the relevant drivers for it.

ejm1224 - you also need to find the windows geforce drivers for your mac.. unfortunately i'm not familiar with bootcamp so i don't know of how to resolve this problem exactly (just taking a guess since its winxp) but you can get a second opinion from the mac or bootcamp forums or ask the guys at the mac section (alternate OS) here at techspot :)

Okay my Sims Family Fun Stuff has worked since I first got it, around Christmas. But recently it has done the weird 'DirectX 9.0' thing. The only thing I did different was I downloaded a iTuned update, but I don't know how that would change anything...?

Computer Name: DELL8400
Operating SystemL Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: Dimension 8400
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A01

Sims2 Bon Voyage

Hi all.
As my name suggests, I don't know much about computers at all! My little brother has just bought Sims 2 Bon Voyage. I already have Sims 2 and can play that without any problems. But we can't install Bon Voyage because of the whole DirectX 9.0c graphic adapter problem that everyone else seems to have. So here are my Specs or w/e their called. I hope this is all I need.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5,1, Build 2600)
System Manufacturer: Optima
System Model: WorkPro/MyPC D9 Series
BIOS (NFI what this is, but this is what it says): BIOS Date: 09/14/05 18:28:16 Ver:08.00.10
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz 92 CPUs)
Memory: 502MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Name (not sure if I'm looking at the right thing for this?): Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
Approx. Total Memory: n/a

Thanks in advance,
Jess! :)
P.S: Please reply ASAP! School hols are nearly over for me! LOL.

Sims2 Direct X 9.0c Graphics Adaptor Error

Hi, new here and I'm sorry - I know this has been asked a thousand times before (I've read all the threads but not found an answer that works for me!)

My daughter was previously running Sims 2 on my laptop with no problems.

It is a Dell Inspiron 6400. It has a Mobile Intel (R) 945GM Express Chipset family graphics card with Intel Calistoga Graphics controller.

Windows XP Home version 2002, SP2. Intel CPU T2300@1.66GHz, 980MHz, 504mb of RAM.

Now she has bought the Bon Voyage expansion pack and it won't play. We get the error message "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."

I have tried changing the colours to 16bit - didn't work.
I have tried the adding -w thing - didn't work.

Help! Any solutions please asap as my autistic daughter doesn't understand the problem and will not let it drop!

Thanks, Teacher

Please re-create a new thread just for you here --> https://www.techspot.com/vb/menu8.html

bizarretragedy instead of posting on others threads (here and elsewhere it would seem)
Why don't you start a new thread.

@aLeXyTia refer to the above (although bizarretragedy hasn't yet understood)
Please create a new thread
This thread was created 09-19-2004 I'd say a tad old now!

Okay I'm having the same problem as the one posted however when I do the dxdiag my graphic adapter or driver doesnt come up under display all the information is n/a or blank, all I want is to play the sims 2 and expansions and I cannot I've searched everywhere I desperately need help. Thanks

First press start on your computer and click run and in the box type dxdiag. Then in the window that pops up click display. At the botton there are 3 programs with either enabled, disabled, or not available. Next to Direct3D Acceleration I am guessing it says not available. If it says disabled just enable it. If it says enabled and it doesn't work I don't believe I can help. Now if it does say not available you will have to download DirectX 9.0c at this website: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...11-62fe-4f61-aba1-914185249413&displaylang=en Verify your type of internet connection and click continue and verify it again and click download. Now how you download it is very important! Do not press open you have to save it! Make sure you save it on our desktop! YOU CANNOT SAVE IT ANYWHERE ELSE! After it is downloaded on your desktop minamize the internet to your desktop and you will see its icon. Double click it to run it and follow what it says. After that is done restart your computer and go back to pressing start, run, dxdiag and see if its there now and enabled and try playing Sims 2 now!

I hope I was a help and if you have any other questions on it please email them to me at loismustdie_84@yahoo.com Good luck!
